After signing of our technical cooperation agreement with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO / WHO), the Epistemonikos database is now integrated and available within the Virtual Health Library (VHL) of the Latin American and Caribbean Center of Information in Health Sciences (BIREME).
This means that users can access primary studies and systematic reviews, according to the search performed, facilitating the recovery, access and use of relevant scientific evidence to support health decision making.
The objective of the integration is to enrich the existing records of the Library, considering that Epistemonikos is the base that compiles the largest number of systematic reviews worldwide and incorporates artificial intelligence technologies to facilitate access to information. The agreement also includes strengthening the adequate translation of knowledge for health decision makers in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as supporting the dissemination of the results stored in the database.
Our Co-founder and Chairman, Gabriel Rada, explains that the “main mission of Epistemonikos Foundation is to bring the evidence closer to health decision-makers, so this alliance is an example of how the ecosystem of medical evidence is enriched day by day. We are confident that this first integration cycle will be of great help to researchers and will enhance the application of evidence-based medicine in the Region”.
